ABOUT ME
I received B.Eng. in Computer and Communication Systems, Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2002, M.Sc. in Computer Communications, Universiti Sains Malaysia 2005. I received my Ph.D. in Wireless Communication Networks, The University of Sydney, Australia 2010. I am a Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), IEEE Communication Society (ComSoc), IEEE ComSoc Communications and Information Security Technical Committee (CISTC), International Association of Engineers (IAENG), Institute for Computer Sciences, Social-Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering (ICST), and Australian Research Council (ARC) Communication Research Network (ACORN).
My research interests are in the areas of network security, quality of service (QoS), green communications, biologically inspired networking, signal processing and stochastic analysis, and their applications in several fields, notably wireless networks. I am the Past Chair of IEEE Malaysia Communications and Vehicular Technology Society (ComSoc/VTS) Joint Chapter. Under my tenure, the Chapter won the 2016 ComSoc Chapter of the Year and 2015 VTS Chapter of the Year Awards, 2016 IEEE Malaysia Best Chapter.
The genesis of my interest in education, an interest which has now evolved into an aspiration and a pursuit for a career in the field, happened during my undergraduate studies. I wish to have a career that provides freedom for me to do two things I like the most - meet and talk to people and do research.
A fruitful experience during undergraduate studies changed my understanding of education and, together with it, the course of my life. My respected lecturers (currently my fellow colleagues) and those graduate students were young, vigorous, and highly intelligent, demonstrating impressive both teaching and research expertise.
I came to realize that higher education should be dominated by not only fundamental and current concepts but also advanced idea, assisted by effective teaching strategies which combine the outcome-based method and the principle of research. In a nutshell, education presents me a field in which I can achieve my personal goal and development.
